I wish to tell of the great blessings and benefits we have received through Christian Science treatment and the reading of Science and Health. About eleven years ago my husband was a great sufferer from nervous dyspepsia. He had suffered about nine years, and at times would be confined to bed for six weeks. At one time he was so emaciated and weak that he had to be lifted. He could take nothing but liquids without great distress, had heart palpitation, and other troubles that caused great misery. We had spent a great deal for medical treatment, yet nothing gave any permanent relief. I was indeed a miserable woman; the suspense I endured is beyond description.

One day, a blessed day for us, a kind friend told me of the wonderful healing of her sister through the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. We then went to see a practitioner and my husband was healed.

Soon after his healing, I became almost a nervous wreck. Insomnia, despondency, and other troubles came up to be destroyed by the truth. My healing was slow, yet, in the words of the psalmist, I can say, "Before I was afflicated I went astray: but now have I kept thy word," The reading of the Bible and Science and Health has been a great help to us, spiritually, physically, and financially. We have had to fight, but Truth always gains the victory. I enjoy the Wednesday evening meetings, but as we live some distance we cannot always attend. We, however, realize God's ever-presence and loving care and protection.
