I was at a Wednesday evening meeting, and when I...

I was at a Wednesday evening meeting, and when I returned home had a message to come to my mother's, as she was very sick. When I arrived I was told that she had had another stroke (she having had a slight stroke the previous November), that the doctor did not think she would live, and had told my sister that the only thing she could do was to relieve mother of some of the pain by injections of morphine. I at once said that we would try Christian Science, and called up a practitioner, who agreed to take care of her. I went back to the house and found the convulsions broken and mother quiet. In a short time she opened her eyes and spoke to me, but we could hardly understand her. In about ten minutes she again went to sleep, and the doctor said her pulse was getting stronger and that she seemed out of danger. After mother awoke, early in the morning, she talked with us, and felt very much better, so much so that she sat up in her chair, but she did not have the use of her right leg or arm. The doctor called in the morning and said mother was very much better. She also said she supposed we did not want her to prescribe, and my sister replied that we did not. This same doctor had given mother electrical treatment to within one month of her second stroke. In one week's treatment under Christian Science mother was well, and even better than she had been before the other stroke in November.

Truly God is with us as an ever-present help in time of need, and our hearts go out in love to Mrs. Eddy, and gratitude to God for the revelation of Truth which has come to us through Christian Science.
