Scranton (Pa.) Times

Whether one believes in Christian Science or not, the period has been reached when it commands respect, attention and admiration. Its followers are respectable not only in numbers but in make-up. Its essential acceptation has overflowed its own communion, and affected many persons in all denominations of Christians, and even Hebrews as well. It has the powerful advantage, as a cult, of mixing itself with its people's health and daily lives. It has grown with great rapidity, gaining probably a million of open adherents in thirty years, and there can be no question that it will gain many more. Among its local adherents is a gentleman who this week sought the nomination for the highest office in the gift of the people of Pennsylvania.
