Among the Churches

The edifice at the corner of Post and Taylor Streets which was occupied by First Church of Christ, Scientist, having been burned by the recent fire, it was decided that services be held on the lot owned by the church at the southwest corner of Sacramento and Scott Streets.

As building operations had begun on the new edifice there was a quantity of lumber on the ground, and a rough floor was laid, benches and a Readers' platform were constructed, and a congregation of over eight hundred attended the first open-air service, held there yesterday morning [April 29] at eleven o'clock. The regular order of service was conducted by the Readers, and the announcement was made that a relief committee had been appointed which was prepared to render assistance to any Christian Scientist in need of help.

A temporary structure will be erected on the lot for the use of the church and Reading Room, and services will be held every Sunday morning at eleven o'clock and Wednesday evening at seven o'clock The present Christian Science headquarters are located at 2063 Bush Street.
