As this month rounds out six years and more of study and work in Christian Science, I am prompted to contrast its fruits with those of a university course of four years and a practice of ten years in medicine and surgery. In medical practice I earned much money and had nothing left. My success in work brought disappointment, ingratitude, hatred, malice, complete loss of health and happiness, etc. Theories of the cause and cure of disease were constantly changing, hence new books, apparatus, and post-graduate courses, each in turn being found futile, and discarded.
Now for my experience in Christian Science. It has given me an acquaintance with God and the realization of all good; work now brings love, joy, peace, understanding, and a real home, where Love reigns. The knowledge of God proves the nothingness of disease. The Bible, Science and Health, and "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy, as well as her other writings, the Quarterly, the Concordance, our Church Manual, Hymnal, and all the Christian Science periodicals, increase in value as they are understood. I cannot enumerate all the healing work that this study has wrought in me, physically, mentally, morally, and financially, but if any doubter wishes proof, or any sufferer seeks encouragement to persevere in this line of thought, I will gladly furnish the data.
With our dear Leader, the loved Watcher on Mount Zion, we rejoice that the ramparts and foundations of error are falling and that the soldiers of the cross are standing steady in Love.
