About ten years ago one of my ankles suddenly became stiff, and serious complications set in. For about two years I could not walk without crutches, and was much of the time in a wheel-chair. I improved considerably but the foot was turned out, the ankle joint stiff, and one limb a little shorter than the other. I was then treated for a short time by a specialist in New York City, who placed a shoe with a thick sole on my foot and said I would always have to wear it. With this I could walk, but with difficulty.

After a little treatment in Christian Science and six months' study of the text-book, the limb began to grow longer and the joint more limber, so that I was soon able to leave off the thick-soled shoe and walk without limping. I have always lived in Poughkeepsie and now attend Vassar College, where I take the same exercise as the other girls. I am in excellent health, and have been ever since my healing in Christian Science.
