To tell of the manifold benefits which have come to me...
To tell of the manifold benefits which have come to me through the study of Science and Health would take up too much space, but I would like to testify to one case of healing which illustrates the power of divine Love to accomplish what surgery and mechanical appliances failed to do. About two and a half years ago, when I first took up the study of Christian Science, I had what is termed by medical men a curvature of the spine. The case was considered critical and I was under the care of two noted specialists for a long time. For several months I was obliged to remain in bed, and at times the pain was so severe that morphine was administered to relieve it. Owing to the prolonged rest, conditions improved somewhat, and I was able to get up and walk around. The pain, however, continued and I was unable to stand erect. If I coughed or was jolted I would fall to my knees, the pain was so acute. At this juncture Christian Science found me, and through its help alone the inharmonious condition was destroyed and the spine resumed its normal position. Since then there has been no return of the trouble. The healing was absolutely perfect, and so natural that I did not know when it took place. One day I realized that I was walking erect, and on examination the spine was found to be straight.
The study of Christian Science has helped me in many other ways and has changed me mentally, morally, and physically. It helps me in my daily life, in my relation to others, and in my business. For all these benefits I am very grateful to our Leader, who has given this great discovery to humanity. I hold for her the deepest reverence and love, as do all who have been helped and strengthened by her unselfish life.—F. C. Irvine, Chicago, Ill.
