I have long had a desire to tell of the wonderful healing I have experienced through Christian Science treatment. Between three and four years ago I was healed of severe lung trouble. The coughing and raising stopped in about three days, not by degrees but at once. Many minor ailments were met also, I had been from birth afflicted with valvular heart disease, and had been told repeatedly that I was liable to die at any time. Nearly one year ago, I was taken with what the doctor called hemorrhages of the heart, which I had for five weeks, one of these being very severe. I had to lie on my back for weeks and could not be moved from one side of the bed to the other, as every exertion brought on another hemorrhage. My physician said he could do nothing to prevent them and had done all he or any physician could do. My death was four times reported about town, and the general statement was, "It is only a matter of time." I had an ice-pack on the left side for weeks, to try to congeal the blood. When I was in despair, a dear cousin, who knew that I had a desire for Christian Science treatment, sent to a practitioner without my knowledge, as one in the family was opposed to it. The hemorrhages were stopped in a few days' treatments. I now do a good share of my housework, can walk quite a distance, and go up and down stairs many times a day.

I do not feel that this testimony does justice to the healing I have received. I would not leave out the spiritual uplifting that came with the physical healing. I feel grateful for the little understanding I have of Truth; it has enabled me to make some good demonstrations. Instead of believing in a God afar off, I have learned that He is ever-present. I wish to thank Mrs. Eddy, whose teachings have brought me from darkness into the light. I am doing what I can to spread this blessed truth. A great work is going on here.
