Only those who have no knowledge of Christian Science...
Chester (Pa.) Times
Only those who have no knowledge of Christian Science would think of identifying it with those systems which claim to heal through the exercise of personal magnetism and hypnotism. The mere fact that Christian Science operates through the mentality, is no more of an argument in favor of classifying it with mesmerism and hypnotism, than is the fact that Jesus rejected the material in favor of the mental in his work of reformation and healing any reason for claiming that he healed merely through the exercise of the human will. His teaching healed the sick by pointing the way to God. He taught his followers to submit the human will to the divine, and thus partake of the "bread of life."
