"The sick are healed"

In view of the practically admitted futility of medical treatment for certain diseases, it is not amiss to call attention to the fact that testimony is constantly accumulating which proves that Christian Science is healing all manner of so-called incurable diseases, also that tuberculosis is included in the list of ills for the cure of which many are successfully turning to this practical application of the Master's gospel.

We are reminded of this by an exhibit, under the auspices of the State Board of Health, which is now in progress in Boston. This exhibit has for its object the dissemination of information regarding tuberculosis and the methods which modern medical and hygienic authorities advocate for its treatment and prevention. While the methods advised for the prevention of this dread disease find ready endorsement by sensible and refined people, because they are in harmony with their innate love for sunlight, pure air, pure water, pure food, and cleanly surroundings, there is but little encouragement given to the unfortunates who are suffering from fully developed cases of this malady. In the presence of such cases medical practice and hygiene confess their helplessness.

Among well authenticated instances of the healing of consumption by Christian Science is that of Mrs. Lila Young of Los Angeles, Cal., who testified in the case of The People versus Reed, a case which was tried in the courts of that city. The following is a part of the official record of Mrs. Young's testimony:—
