The Lectures

In his lecture on Christian Science at the Auditorium Theatre, July 16, Edward A. Kimball of Chicago was greeted by a large audience, many people standing. The lecture was given under the auspices of First Church of Christ, Scientist. City Engineer Charles McIntyre introduced the lecturer, saying in part,—

It is only by the results obtained that we can rightly judge of anything that we do not yet fully understand. To-day people demand results,—and rightly so. Mere theories, speculation, human opinions, and beliefs are counted as naught in the presence of a demonstrable Science. Five years ago I was healed in one day of maladies which medical treatment failed to cure. This was accomplished by reading the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker G. Eddy. and others in my family were healed of so-called "incurable" diseases by Christian Science treatment. Since then, we have relied on Christian Science alone as our physician. We rely upon it for our health, our happiness, our prosperity; understanding God as an ever-present help,—a help that is available to every man, woman, and child in the world.
