I wish to acknowledge God's goodness to me

I wish to acknowledge God's goodness to me. In July, 1898, I was wonderfully healed of nervousness, indigestion, severe headaches, and also of partial paralysis of one of my limbs. I had taken various kinds of treatment for the last-named ailment, and at considerable expense, without having received any permanent relief. I entertained a strong belief in heredity, as my father and grandfather had both died of paralysis. I was living in New York, and a friend who was a trained nurse came to visit me. Learning of my condition she advised Christian Science treatment. I knew little of it, but in my great need I decided to try it. I called upon the practitioner whom my friend had recommended, and at my first interview told him that I had no faith in Christian Science, and asked him what good his prayers would do me. Patiently and kindly he quoted Scripture and opened out to me the promise of the Christ-power to heal, and my hungering heart seemed to grasp the truth. I was healed in five treatments.

I am very grateful to our Leader. The Sentinel is a welcome visitor each week.
