Letters to our Leader
Kansas City, Mo., October 16, 1905.
To Mary Baker Eddy.
Our Dear Leader:- The students of General Erastus N. Bates of Kansas City, Mo., have this day sent to the Building Fund of The Mother Church at Boston, Mass., the sum of two hundred dollars as a testimony of love to this great truth and also to one whose every thought and deed was loyal to the Cause he loved. We are all members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Kansas City, Mo., and have been sending our contributions through that channel to the Building Fund. This simple act of justice presented itself; letters were sent out to the students (sixteen in number), the response was loving and a great wish expressed to be more united, to be of one mind, to feel more love for one and all. If this demonstration brings one drop of joy to you, our beloved Leader, we will feel happy indeed.
