I wish to add my testimony as to the healing power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science. I am a carpenter, and was caught on the main shaft of a silk mill in October. 1903. I was drawn between the shaft and a post and was very badly hurt. There was a cut in my side about fourteen inches in length, made by the set screw in the shaft, and the side of my face, my back, and neck were also injured. I could not move my head without taking hold of it and turning it. I was helped into the engine room and sent home in a cab. One of the employes came with me and he thought I ought to have a physician to examine me. Finally, to please him, I told him he could send one, and when the doctor examined me he said there was a ligament of one of my ribs broken and I had better go to bed for a couple of weeks. This I refused to do. He also wanted to prescribe for my nervousness, but I said, No.

I was under Christian Science treatment, and on the seventh day I went down town by trolley car. over two miles, on the eighth day I walked over a mile, and in six weeks' time I was able to go to work. The proprietor of the mill told me that my escape from death was marvelous. I am very thankful for Christian Science.
