No one has more reason to be grateful for Christian Science...
No one has more reason to be grateful for Christian Science than have I. From earliest childhood I was considered an invalid, never being well more than a few days at a time. I suffered from almost every ill that flesh is heir to. One trouble, which caused me the most intense suffering, was with my eyes,—an ailment I was supposed to have been born with. As I grew older it became so aggravated that I was obliged to spend most of my time seeking relief, —the best physicians and oculists in Chicago being consulted. Nothing, however, proved of any avail. I suffered from pain in my head and eyes for fifteen years; this being only one of the many troubles with which I was bound. It was not until I had exhausted every known remedy, travel included, that I turned to Christian Science, and was healed in a few treatments. This was nine years ago.
My father is one of the oldest Baptist clergymen in Chicago. I was not, however, satisfied with the explanation he gave me of God, man, and the universe. I knew, after the first talk I had with the Christian Scientist who had been called in to me, that Christian Science is the truth for which I had been longing. It has not only healed my physical ills, and is still healing me of sin, but best of all it shows me how to reach out and help others.
Deeds more than words will have to express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for this wonderful revelation. The literature of the Christian Science Publishing Society has been such a source of help to me that I feel impelled to send this short testimony.
