In grateful acknowledgment to God's obedient servant,...
In grateful acknowledgment to God's obedient servant, our dear Leader, I testify to what Christian Science has done for me. When a small child I was terribly burned over the back and stomach by scalding water. The physician said I might not live, and if I did live that I might never entirely recover from the nervous shock. I suffered from weak nerves and at times from improper action of the kidneys, stomach, and heart.
At the beginning of my sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin, my brother became so interested in Christian Science that he decided to study law, and not follow out his intention of studying for the ministry. I was bitterly opposed to the stand he took. It was, however, but a few weeks later that I was compelled to leave college on account of nervous prostration. Through the letters of my brother and a dear friend in Science I became interested in it, and when I returned to college the following year I went to the Christian Science Church, and since then have attended regularly.
Through Christian Science I have overcome colds, the stomach, kidney, and heart trouble, and weak nerves. I am now perfectly well and strong. It was not an immediate change; but through the patient and helpful counsel of a dear Scientist I gradually gained a firm hold of this beautiful and practical truth. Christ, Truth, now means more to me than all else, and my great desire is to live it and always manifest good.—M. G. Montgomery, Detroit, Mich.
