One of the greatest mistakes that the critics of Christian Science make is "that the followers are impelled to throw away the experience of the ages and discredit their own senses." We are a most grateful people for all the good that has come down through the centuries. We are conscious that Christian Science could not have come to this age without the preparation that has been made for it. Science and Health says, "Whatsoever inspires with wisdom, Truth, or Love—be it song, sermon, or Science—blesses the human family with crumbs of comfort from Christ's table, feeding the hungry, and giving living waters to the thirsty" (p. 234).

Is it "pitiful" to believe in Truth, or something that others do not believe in for fear of being thought ridiculous? It is admitted that Christian Scientists are healthy, happy, intelligent people. Then what are intelligent people but those who manifest intelligence, and accept that which is genuine?
