Christian Science in Business
At last Wednesday evening's meeting, the remarks of the Reader concerning the rapid spread of Christian Science among business men, and the testimony of a commercial traveler from the East impelled me to speak a little on similar lines.
The commercial traveler is said to be "the advanceguard of civilization," and many of them have become, as well, the advance-guards of Christian Science. They, of course, echo to a considerable extent the ideas on the subject of the varied business interests they come directly indirectly in contact with, and they carry the truths of Christian Science into many towns and business houses, thus becoming the forerunners of this practical and commonsense teaching.
It speaks well for the future of Christian Science that so many business men are becoming ardent and enthusiastic supporters of it, also that so many commercial travelers are coming to an understanding of its teachings. It is tending to change the morals of the business world, for by eradication of fear and worry, and by overcoming the tendency to influence or be influenced, either by hypnotism or suggestion, the business man of to-day in Christian Science is stronger in every sense of the word, and is in a position to face with a clear thought all the business problems of the day, without fear or favor.
