Practical Trust in God

WE are permitted to use the following letter of counsel, addressed to her sister by one who well says of it, "I have no right to claim anything as of myself, it is simply a glimpse of truth revealed unto a seeker for truth, by that flash of inward light which is, I suppose, a momentary consciousness of the ever-abiding Truth within and without us."

When I read your last letter I felt as if I wanted to take you up and comfort you and make you believe that there is no need of worrying about your position. You may keep it or you may lose it, but all that matters is that you are filled with trust, and that you are happy all the time because you know that God takes care of you, and that you do not need to worry or even plan ahead very far, if you are always realizing in your thought that God is ever with you and always conscious of your needs, all-loving to provide good, all-wise to know it, and all-powerful to bring about everything He wants you to have.

You do not need to lose the buoyancy of vacation in this worry, but just to go on as happy as in the most care free hours, remembering that "on the helm there rests a hand other than mine."
