New Hampshire Granite for Manchester, Eng.

Concord (N. H.) Monitor

An order was recently received from Lady Victoria Murray, daughter of Lord Dunmore, for a corner-stone which is to be used in the new church edifice to be erected in Manchester, England. The stone comes from the famous quarries of the New England Granite Company, which furnished the granite for the Congressional Library in Washington.

The growth of the church at Manchester has been remarkable. Lady Victoria was called there something less than four years ago, and through her efforts there has grown up a movement which is now about to build a beautiful edifice of Gothic structure, which promises to be one of the handsomest of that city.

It will be remembered that Lord Dunmore and family have visited Concord as the guests of the Reverend Mary Baker Eddy. Soon after her visit to Pleasant View, Lady Victoria Murray resigned the duties and social privileges of her high position in English society and has since given her entire time to the religious movement which is making such rapid progress in England and elsewhere.
