"Open, Sesame"

In our testimonial meetings and "Testimonies from the Field" we frequently hear and read of the power of a text from the Bible, an expression from Science and Health; of a verse or stanza of a hymn, an inscription, or even a picture, by which the liberated consciousness was flooded with light.

Hungering humanity, yearning for the same liberator, turns hopefully to the same expression, only to be disappointed if it adopts it as a formula, the mere repetition of the letter, without understanding, and therefore without power.

"He uttered his voice, the earth melted," is scientifically grand, but it is not always of like significance, even to the same person. Do the adoption and use of the same words always produce the same results? While all these expressions are redolent with Truth, are words of Life, is not the real "Open, sesame!" the receptivity of one's own consciousness, be he practitioner or patient? Is it not the realization that Love is impartial, that the seeker is already and always found "In atmosphere of Love divine"? Is it not the realization that God's law of harmony obtains now?
