The New Light
Acetylene mixed with a certain proportion of oxygen gives a light three times as intense as the oxyhydric [calcium] light. Its brilliancy is such that even in full daylight signals can be sent to a distance of about five miles. In the night this distance is about trebled.
The Literary Digest.
Man is four: —
He who knows not, and knows not he knows not; he is a fool, shun him.
He who knows not, and knows he knows not; he is simple, teach him.
He who knows, and knows not he knows; he is asleep, waken him.
He who knows and knows he knows; he is wise, follow him. — An Arab Apothegm.

Dr. M. S. Kaufman.
