Dear Sir:—On March 24 you published a synopsis of a sermon by Rev. Ray Palmer of Sunday, March 23, in which he makes many incorrect statements concerning the teachings of Christian Science, some of which are: It is against the Bible, it is un-Christian, it is heathen in origin, it denies the atonement of Jesus Christ, etc.

Jesus Christ explained his earthly mission in his answer to John's inquiry, "Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?" He answered, "Go and shew John again the things which ye do hear and see: the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he whosoever shall not be offended in me." Thus he defined the Christ mission. Again, he said to his disciples "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Again, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; and he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. ... And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the work with signs following."
