Trusting in God
Much is said about trusting and resting in God. To the unthinking, this knowing or trusting, this state of resting in God, would seem a lying back and letting God work, but when we consider that it is mortal mind that is to rest and trust, in order that divine Mind may work, we shall see that the hardest work is for us, at the present time. For mortal mind to rest and trust is most unnatural. I have found that rest and trust in God means, not lying back, but decisive action.
In the old thought, I read in Jesus' healing work, action on his part alone, but lately, in reading his words, I find that in every case he required work done by those receiving help.
I made a list of the expressions used, each shows the action required: "seeing their faith," "fill the pots," "let down the nets," "beseeching," "wilt thou," "stretch out thy hand," "according to your belief," "Peace, be still," "weep not," "murmur not."
