The Lectures

The interest felt in Christian Science in this village, and, without doubt, a general element of curiosity on the part of many, were instrumental in assembling a large audience at the Empire Theatre last evening (Monday, April 23) when Carol Norton, C.S.D., of New York, lectured on "Christian Science—What It Is and What It Is Not." The lecture was given under the auspices of the local First Church of Christ, Scientist.

The lecturer, on invitation of the society, was introduced by Joseph A. Kellogg, who expressed for those present a desire to learn more of the movement which is so prominent in present-day topics.—Glens Falls Times.

The introductory speech of Attorney Kellogg was as follows:—
Ladies and Gentlemen:—Having been honored by the committee in charge with a request to introduce the speaker of the evening, I can best show my appreciation of that mark of confidence by abbreviating the preliminary remarks which custom prescribes as appropriate on such occasions.
