All Material Remedies had Failed

I was a member of the Presbyterian Church for years. As far as the church was concerned I thought it was all right. From early childhood I was religiously inclined, a lover of that which is pure and good. For years I had chronic catarrh of the nose and throat, which was not healed by materia medica. I investigated every remedy that was presented to me but all were of no avail. Prominent physicians failed to meet the demands of my case. I remember one physician after making an examination assured me that the only remedy he had for me was a change of climate, and he advised me to go to Texas or Mexico, saying this would possibly prolong my life.

Then I decided to take treatment from a Christian Scientist. I did not understand Christian Science, but I asked many questions. At one time my healer, who afterwards became my teacher, told me there never was such a person as myself. This awakened me from my dream. I looked at her, and like a flash the omnipotence of Truth dawned upon my consciousness as never before. From that time to this I have been free. This is indeed the Truth the Master referred to when he said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
