No Spread of Contagious Disease

We have received from Mr. George H. Kinter, C.S., of Buffalo, N. Y., the following letter from the Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction of that city, which we take pleasure in publishing.

We are pleased to note these constantly accruing evidences of a fair and kindly attitude toward Christian Science.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION.

Superintendent's Office.

Buffalo, N. Y., March 31, 1900.

George H. Kinter, Esq., 32 Arlington Place, Buffalo, N. Y.

Dear Sir:— In answer to your letter of the 30th inquiring as to whether the schools of this city have had to be closed on account of the spread of contagious diseases through carelessness or neglect on the part of Christian Scientists, I am pleased to state that this is the first intimation I have ever had that such a charge has been made. So far as my observation goes, the charge is entirely without foundation. Yours very truly,

Henry P. Emerson, Superintendent.
