All Ailments have Disappeared

I had been sick for some time and doctors had told my husband they could do nothing more for me. Some friends then spoke to him of Christian Science and asked him why he did not have me treated, that they knew of some wonderful cures. My trouble was lung disease, or consumption, with many other complications. I had been subjected at times, all my life, to severe spells of neuralgia in my eyes and head. When my health grew so bad the attacks became more severe until the neuralgia went to my heart, and when Christian Science found me, I was a complete physical wreck. I had grown indifferent to all things except the misery I endured. So when my husband came home and told me he wanted me to try Christian Science, I told him it was useless, but all insisted and we went to a healer. I asked her if she would guarantee a cure. She said she could not, but was sure I could be healed. After she had read to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and told me that God could heal me, it was as if a veil had been lifted from my eyes. I always believed that God was all-powerful, but I had never thought to turn to Him instead of to medicine for bodily ailments, although the Scripture is full of Mind-healing.

After the first treatment my husband went home and threw away all my medicine, which was a good many dollars worth. He afterwards said that he expected to have to replace it all in a few days, but to give me hope he threw it away. That was almost two years ago, and he has never had any call to replace the medicine. One trouble that yielded to the first treatment was weak eyes. When I was given some tracts to read, I told the Scientist that I could not read,—my eyes were too bad. She told me that I could read the tracts, so I took them home and sat down to read and never stopped until I had read them all. I have had no trouble with my eyes since.

One by one all ailments disappeared, until I can now say that I am a strong woman, and can perform all my household duties without trouble. I have also been able to overcome many diseases, and most of them were overcome at once.
