Glad Easter Day!

O Easter day! Glad Easter day!
I come to thee my vows to pay.

I bring thee songs of gratitude,
I bring thee blossoms many hued,

I bring thee spices pure and sweet,
I lay all treasure at thy feet;

For on this day my Saviour came;
I learned there was "no other name."

For many years I sought relief,
And prayed to God to still my grief,

When lo! one glorious Easter day
I saw the Christ and heard Him say,

"You are the child of Love and Life
Come unto Me and still your strife!

"I am the way to heaven and peace,
Come unto Me and find release!"

O wondrous words to me that day,
O power divine that rolled away

The cold, hard stone from off my heart
And taught me all the better part.

That Love was Infinite and All,
And I obedient to His call

Could never cease to praise and pray
Could never end that Easter day.

Ah, do you wonder that I say,
Glad Easter day! Glad Easter day!
