Christian Science Healed Them
Kansas City (Mo.) Times
At the last regular Wednesday night testimonial meeting of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, in the auditorium of the Pepper Building, a number of interesting personal testimonials as to the efficacy of Christian Science in healing mental and physical ailments was given. The attendance was smaller than usual, owing to the inclement weather, but the meeting was, for all that, of exceptional interest.
The leader asked for the giving of personal testimony.
The first speaker said he had great reason to be thankful for the discovery of Christian Science. For years his wife had been under the care of physicians for hay fever, headaches, and other similar troubles, and had received no benefit. Finally she had been told that there was no cure known to the medical profession for hay fever, and then she turned her attention to Christian Science, with the result that she had been permanently cured in a few days. He said that he himself had suffered from astigmatism, and had worn glasses, but that after becoming a Christian Scientist he had never felt the need of them. Since the time when he first took up Christian he has had recourse to no other method of healing. He also knew of a woman who had suffered from insanity, and had been confined in a sanitarium. She was given absent treatment at the request of her husband, and was cured in a few days. "To my mind," he said, "the most beautiful part of Christian Science is the spiritual uplifting, which teaches and helps us to work for our fellow-men, who are suffering from disease and sin."
