An Apt Saying

A Letter recently received from a young lady who is interested in Christian Science contains the following reference to the experience of herself and a friend:—

"We both want to read Mrs. Eddy's books. I wish I had nothing else to do for a while; they are like water when we are thirsty. We also seem to be convinced that to be a Christian Scientist is to be like those books and John's Gospel and Isaiah."

This is truly a beautiful and wise conception for any one to have reached, but for a young student of Science, it is worthy of more than a passing thought.

When Christian Scientists shall become like John's Gospel and Isaiah and our Leader's writings, they can truly be said to be Christian Scientists.

John and Isaiah, like many others of the Biblical books, and our Leader's writings, are reflectors of divine Love; and this is what Christian Scientists must be. When they shall reflect God—Good—in the same impersonal way that these books do, the healing and saving work of Christian Science will have reached so substantial a footing that the outside world will no longer gainsay it.

Yes, by all means, let us be like these precious, life-giving, and health-restoring books.
