Help Received from the Manual
I want to acknowledge the benefit I have received from the Church Manual. I expected to purchase one, but a friend said, "You can use mine;" but I felt I needed one of my own, so sent for a copy of the thirteenth edition. I was healed of a severe pain and great confusion in the head that had troubled me for several weeks, by the first reading of Section 5, Article XXI.
I feel that we as members of the Mother Church do not fully appreciate the Manual and what it means to us to be loyal and obedient to its rules and by-laws. My heart goes out in love and gratitude to our dear Leader for her watchfulness and tender care. Also to the officers and First Members of the Mother Church, who are so faithful to their trust. I fully appreciate the Journal and Sentinel. It is now about eight years since I first gained any understanding of Christian Science, although I had known of it, and that it healed, for three years before I sought it for my own needs.
It indeed has been the comforter when I have been surrounded by want, darkness, distress, and despair. Every ailment that has come to a family of six has been met and mastered through the understanding of Truth.
