Help in Time of Need
When the Light came to me through Christian Science, I was in the darkness of despair. I thought, "O, where can rest be found."
One can easily understand the suffering both physical and mental, that such a state of thought would bring. The physicians said it was nervous prostration and weakness brought on by too steady application to business. I see now it was just utterly giving up, because I saw nothing worth striving for. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," came as a beam of light from a world of light in which there is no darkness at all,—the Light that can penetrate the remotest recesses of mortal thought, dispel the darkness of error, and break the bonds of sense, that the children of the One Eternal, omnipresent Good (God) may be free, governed and controlled only by the One Mind.
After trying many physicians, patent mediciens, electricity, massage, and everything that mortal thought could suggest, and finding them a broken reed, I knew not which way to look. It was then the still, small voice of Truth said, "Look up;" and the assurance was given me that my desires were heard and answered, and I had a bright, happy future before me. From that moment I never doubted. I knew it was so, although I did not know how it was to be realized. Truth was leading me. I was advised to go to a Christian Science healer. I did so, and received the help so much needed. My healing was slow, but error cannot stand in the presence of Truth, and as the consuming fire of divine Love burns up the chaff of error, true Being is made manifest and health is found to be man's birthright.
