Healed after Operations Failed

Ten years ago I fell from a step-ladder causing such injury that I was never free from pain, although I immediately consulted one of our best physicians, and went every day for treatment. At the expiration of three years' treatment, taking medicine all the time, I found myself growing worse, and my nervous system fast being shattered. The constant fear lest my mind might be affected from continual pain, drove me almost to desperation. A consultation was held with a surgeon, and an operation was suggested. I reluctantly gave my consent, hoping thereby to be well; but alas! I was only more miserable. A year elapsed when I was worse than ever. Electricity was tried, a milk diet, the rest-cure, and medicine galore, but to no purpose. At that time a noted surgeon from New York City visited our city, and I submitted to a second operation, which proved utterly fruitless. I was really on the verge of insanity when I heard of Christian Science. When I first called upon a healer for treatment, I could scarcely walk a block, could not go up or down stairs without pain; even talking was an exertion, and not a friend thought I would ever regain my health. My healing has been slow, but sure. I can now outwalk most of my friends. I cannot be too thankful to Mrs. Eddy for what she has done for so many suffering ones.
