A Beautiful Christmas Gift

St. Joseph (Mo.) Daily Gazette

Mr. C. M. Howe has just returned from Lead City, S. Dak., where he went at the request of Rev. Mary Baker G. Eddy of Concord, N. H., to officiate at the presentation ceremonies in connection with the lovely Christmas gift which Mrs. Eddy has just made to her son, who resides in Lead City. The gift referred to is a commodious eleven-room brick residence, the erection of which during the past summer has been under the direction of Mr. Howe; Mr. J. C. Ryan of Spearfish, S. Dak., having superintended its construction. The plans were furnished by Mr. E. J. Eckel of this city, and all the furniture and fixtures were supplied by St. Joseph firms. The following is from The Lead City Call:—

"One of the most elegant and beautiful gifts ever made in this city was from Rev. Mary B. G. Eddy of Concord, N. H., to George W. Glover of this city. Mr. Glover is the only son of Mrs. Eddy. The gift consists of a handsome brick mansion at the head of Maine Street thoroughly equipped and furnished from cellar to garret. The gift is worth at least twenty thousand dollars.

"The beautiful residence is located where it commands a most extensive view of the city. Mr. Glover's friends, and we may say all the good people of this city, are much pleased over his good fortune.
