The Error of Worrying
Who can lift his eyes skyward, on a clear calm night, and see the myriads of planets, and stars quietly moving along their celestial orbits, and remember that for countless ages this beautiful order and harmony has existed, and entertain a doubt of the power, wisdom, and omnipresence of God who extablished and perpetuates the harmonious movement of these countless millions? Now this same divine Mind will also guide our pathway in harmony and peace, if we only submit ourselves to His guidance and rely on His promises. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart: and lean not unto thine own understanding."
All the long, weary hours of worry over possible evils that may come to our loved ones have brought nothing but sorrow, pain, and heaviness to us. No good ever came by worrying. Jesus said long years ago, "Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?"
When we cease leaning on our own understanding and trust all to God, these dark images of disaster, want, and sorrow, will dissolve as mist before the sun, and evil will be overcome by the presence of Truth.
