A reminder
[“Lemonade and love,” Debbie Peck, May 19, 2014, issue]
I laughed out loud when I got to the part of hiding the lemonade! What a wonderful example of “growth in grace”—an answer to prayer. It reminds me of a time a number of years ago when I had a similar experience.
I had come across a very rare, out-of-print book that was precious to me. And then I found another! In speaking with a friend from another state, I happened to mention this book, and she expressed much interest. I immediately said I would give her one, and she was delighted, of course.
When I looked at the books, I saw that one was in much better condition than the other—almost perfect—and then it came to me that I would have to give her the better book, rather than keep it for myself. I was momentarily shocked—where would that come from? Wouldn’t one naturally keep the best for oneself and give the “extra” one away? Well, no, I saw there was really no choice. I simply couldn’t keep the best. I realized this was something that my friend would not know, but that I would know, and that was what was important. And I felt such a sense of joy, as did the writer of this article, to find that there had been “growth in grace.” And that was far more valuable than having an almost perfect book—or lemonade!

Good examples
I found Lois Degler’s article “Sacred accounts, modern application” [May 5, 2014, Sentinel] most confirming of the fact that the Bible’s ancient stories are inspiring and real experiences for us today. I, too, find biblical accounts good examples for my thought-models, which lead to healing.
Today, as in antiquity, Father-Mother God’s care for Her children is forever here, forever present. Time is meaningless.
That being said, the Sentinel’s articles and records of healing are also inspired “sacred accounts.”

How important
[“Growing up safe,” Fenella Bennetts, April 21, 2014, issue]
Thank you for this clear reminder of how important it is to pray for our children at all times.

New dimension
The poem/song “Child of Mine” by Caroline Martin in the April 14, 2014, Sentinel is so sweet, especially the audio version available on JSH-Online.com, which is sung. I’m excited that the Sentinel is providing this new dimension for sharing our inspiration, and look forward to more music to come!
