Never left out in the cold
It becomes clearer and clearer to me that the laws of divine Science fill all space and give life and identity to all. I thought about the power of these laws on two recent incidents when a certain family member was suffering from a bad cold. Each time I became aware of the imposition of a cold, I immediately saw instead that the laws of God were the only real cause that give breath and life to this dear one.
In the first instance, I began praying with the truths described above at 7 p.m., and the healing was complete by the time my family member went to bed. In the second instance (about four months later), I was at a Christmas gathering, and it was obvious to me this family member was not feeling well. The complete healing of this cold occurred before my family member went home that evening.
In addition, I was recently healed very quickly of a cold, a severe sore throat, and a headache (on separate occasions). These healings all were complete within 30 minutes. As I prayed each time, God revealed to me the complete nothingness of anything harmful, and I felt enveloped in the atmosphere of pure Spirit. It is so wonderful to be understanding more clearly that a lying “serpent thought,” which is all a cold or any other ailment really is, is just a tempting suggestion, never real for an instant. I thank Mary Baker Eddy so profusely for helping us learn that God has given everyone in the world complete dominion over any guise of evil.
