'That's the way I am'
The conversation comes to a halt when somebody states the platitude, “Well, that’s the way I am,” often followed by “It runs in the family.” If we accept it, it’s a dead-end street, going nowhere.
It’s wise to take a closer look at such remarks that we all make once in a while. With them, we hand over, as it were, our identity and let fate decide our life. Then we open ourselves to all kinds of character traits and ailments—and who wants that?
God, Spirit, is the great “I AM THAT I AM” (Exodus 3:14). God is divine Principle, the spiritual harmonious cause of all. That’s what God is. And your identity comes from Him.
