I want to express my appreciation for Greg Jarvis’s article “Stability during the housing crisis” [March 19 Sentinel]. The example of the woman needing to sell a house and going to church before looking at an important voicemail shows the power of church and putting God first. That prayerful church time allowed the caller to phone again with a more abundant result.
Another article, “Love is reflected in home” by Michelle Nanouche, was also helpful. I appreciated the thought that as we accumulate stuff in our lives we can ask if each piece “fit[s] with my life today? Does it add value? Will keeping it promote my spiritual growth and progress, or am I afraid that if I let it go I won’t have what I need?” This questioning is a great basis for approaching piles accumulated in storage and in thought!
