Learning to pray

Hello, my name is Jack. I attend a Christian Science Sunday School, where I learn about God. One Sunday when I was in the car on the way to church, I felt ill and felt like I was going to get sick.

I prayed. I was taught that God is all good and doesn’t make illness. I am made in God’s image and likeness. So I could not have illness, because God doesn’t either. The Bible tells us that “the Lord is good to all: . . . The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works” (Psalms 145:9, 17). When I got to Sunday School and saw my teacher and my classmates, the ill feeling went away and I felt all better.

I am thankful that I am learning how to use prayer in my life.
