Injuries from car accident healed
One Sunday morning when I was driving to church, a car suddenly came speeding toward me as I was making a left turn. The startled look on the driver’s face was the last thing I saw before the collision. Later, I awoke to see several ambulances, a fire truck, and a large crowd that had gathered. A police officer suggested that I let one of the ambulances take me to an emergency room, but I asked her to call my husband to come and get me.
Although my husband does not study Christian Science, he has been supportive of my choice to rely on prayer for healing. However, when he arrived, he expressed concern that the paramedics and police had suggested that for insurance purposes I should seek a medical diagnosis. Some of my wounds required attention, so I agreed that this seemed wise. I also called a Christian Science practitioner to ask for prayerful help. As we drove to a nearby clinic, I felt surrounded by divine Love.
At the clinic, X-rays were taken that showed no bones had been broken, but I had a cut on my arm that needed to be bandaged. I was diagnosed as having “deep bruises and tissue damage to the left leg” that resulted in painful swelling and difficulty walking. The doctor who evaluated my injuries declared that I would have a painful recovery and it would be months before I could play golf again.
