God’s gift to you

Who hasn’t at times felt like joining hands with Shakespeare’s Hamlet in crying for dominion over the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune . . . the oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely [scorn], the pangs of disprized love, the law’s delay.” We know them all, and just want out of it!

But as a study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures makes plain, dominion is actually as close as thought—and prayer. We are shown how to exercise our spiritual dominion more consistently, and place our thoughts and actions squarely under the jurisdiction of God. We recognize our timeless unity with the one Mind and discover ways of sharing this healing truth with others.

Ethel Baker did just this when a fellow passenger on an airplane admitted to a deep-seated fear of flying (p. 6—beginning with this issue, you can now find the cover stories at the front of the magazine). She talked with him about the loving relationship we each have with God and how this frees us from limitations of all kinds. The result: It’s worth reading to find out!
