The Sentinel issue “Sports and spiritual growth” (May 30) was published two days after the final of the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Champions League final was played at Wembley Stadium in London. Barcelona defeated Manchester United 3-1. Sports commentators hailed the match as one of the finest European finals ever played.
The Champions League final was a vibrant, unfettered expression of God, infinite Spirit, and a memorable occasion for all those who participated or watched. The Sentinel’s focus on sports enables us to understand the purpose of sports and how it can foster moral and spiritual growth.
My thanks to all who contributed to this helpful and inspiring issue.
