Prayer heals facial growth

As I was working in my yard, a few years ago in the spring, I accidentally scraped the side of the bridge of my nose and removed what looked like the first couple of layers of skin. It was a little painful, but certainly not the first bump or scrape I had ever had, so I tended to it briefly and continued my day.

Over the next few days, the wounded area did not seem to be healing readily, and even over the next months it would only partially scab over. As a lifelong Christian Scientist, I had seen and experienced quick healings of many injuries, some of which had seemed more serious than this particular one. In each instance I’d prayed, and healing had come about as the result of relying on the power of God.

As more time passed, however, things did not improve. The affected area became a growth that interfered with wearing any type of glasses and was large enough to cause me to be self-conscious. I was traveling extensively for business and meeting many new people, and I often felt uncomfortable about my appearance. Some of my business associates, who are not Christian Scientists, also became concerned about the look and possible nature of the growth and suggested that I have it checked by a physician. I told them I appreciated their sincere concern and assured them I would take care of myself.
