Love waits to bless

I was living on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, when a change in circumstances found me underemployed while caring for myself and my nine-year-old daughter. I had always been able to secure employment quickly and happily. This occasion seemed to be presenting different variables, coupled with the suggestion of little, if any, employment opportunities.

I had been praying and listening for inspiration on the spiritual concept of supply, which I understood to be a lifting up of my thought to the infinite avenues of guidance divine Mind could provide. I took time to list the skills I would normally mention in a résumé and expanded it to include more than just the traditional skills used for administrative and accounting work. As I included unlimited spiritual qualities, such as love and intelligence, a sense of hope, possibility, and God’s infinite supply began to fill thought.

I also made the decision to spend more time seeking and listening for the “still small voice” of calm (see I Kings 19:12). In Psalms 46:10, I read that as we are still and know God, He will be “exalted in the earth.”
