This is to thank you all for the incredible Sentinel of September 19, 2011 [“How does prayer work?”]. I just finished reading through all the articles and will now have the fun and privilege of going back over them time and time again. Starting with Allison Phinney’s “Christianly Scientific Prayer” and continuing as each following article built on the theme of prayer that works—it was certainly just what I needed to have first thing this morning. And I feel sure that others will be similarly touched and inspired by the simple and understandingly expounded truths contained in each article. The quote in Allison Phinney’s article from Mrs. Eddy “. . . God, Good, is all and Good is Love” is enough to heal the world, isn’t it? Kathleen Chicoine says “Wherever you are, whatever you are, however you are, you are never separated from the Love that is God . . . .” I will be reading and rereading this fine exposé of prayer brought out in all the great articles contained in this issue. It is food for the soul. My sincere thanks,
Mary E. Baxter

As I read the Sentinel this week “9.11.11: a new day,” I thought of the following experience.
