Letters

I have been so, so helped by the article “I choose Love” by Steve Henn that appeared in the November 15 issue of the Sentinel [“United through the Bible”]. It really hit the spot and healed me at once from feelings that endeavouring to commit to my life’s purpose of loving God and serving Him through the practice of Christian Science was a struggle, somehow at odds with my endeavours to succeed in ever finding a lasting and meaningful romantic relationship.

After reading and rereading the article, I am fully convinced that focusing on a spiritual path and purpose cannot possibly deprive me of anything good or needful.

Mary Baker Eddy so reassures us when she writes in Science and Health: “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need” (p. 494). With such a wonderful promise, the feelings of struggle and disappointment have fled, replaced with inner peace and a new-found sense of love for everyone I come into contact with.
