Not impressed!

NO MATTER what difficulties you're facing at this moment, you have the God-given right to see things spiritually. Right now, right where you are, you can take hold of your spiritual dominion and refuse to be impressed with a problem. It's a concept I continue to put into practice.

Mary Baker Eddy reminds readers in Science and Health that "Jesus marked out the way. Citizens of the world, accept the 'glorious liberty of the children of God,' and be free! This is your divine right" (p. 227). It's empowering to learn that God, our heavenly Father, has blessed us all with courage, as followers of Jesus. Over and over he instructs us not to be afraid or impressed by evil of any sort. He shows us again and again that we are masters of our experience.

I'm finding that the key to having dominion over our circumstances is learning to calmly and confidently practice the truth instead of crumpling in the face of problems. A friend shared with me years ago that one could say Jesus didn't react to problems, but rather, problems dissolved in the face of what he was knowing and being.
