No deficit with God's supply

MY HUSBAND, GARY, was in the logging business as the owner and operator of a log truck for over 30 years. When we decided it was time to obtain a medical insurance policy for him about ten years ago, we discovered there was no health insurance offered in our state for independent business owners. At the same time, Gary developed a medical condition that resulted in a stroke, and he could no longer work.

Gary has always respected my choice to rely on God as my caregiver, and I respected his choice for medical treatment. The costs of his medical care and rehabilitation, which lasted for about a month and a half, were very high. As I was not employed at the time, this meant an immediate loss of income, even though the business bills still needed to be paid.

During his recovery, I was serving as the First Reader at my branch church. I was very grateful for the spiritual inspiration I gained while in this capacity, and also called a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful support for myself in this difficult time. We shared many ideas, but the main focus of our prayer was not letting fear overwhelm me. Because I was caring for Gary at home and worrying about how to pay the hospital bills, it was comforting to realize that I could rely on God to meet our every need.
